Direct Injection

Our expertise continues beyond OST® in that we specialize in all forms of aeration and oxygenation. When it comes to oxygenating water bodies that are designed to preserve thermal stratification, there are two distinct technologies; direct injection and saturation technology. Both of these strategies have been applied to all shapes and sizes of lakes and reservoirs, with the main difference between their application being the depth of the water body.
Direct injection, often called Line Diffuser Oxygenation, is more commonly deployed in water bodies greater than 45 feet deep. Direct injection takes advantage of the natural hydrostatic pressure to dissolve the small oxygen gas bubbles in the hypolimnion (deeper waters) before they reach the thermocline. Details about saturation technology, like OST® for shallower applications, can be found on the OST® page.
